A little about ourselves |
|
The objectives of the society are to create an interest for nature/biodiversity conservation in Sri Lanka and take action in related issues. For this we are working with the school children, teachers, university students, nature clubs, other NGO’s working on conservation, researchers, research organizations, government departments, politicians, media and the general public and work with dedication towards the conservation of the unique biodiversity of Sri Lanka.
To achieve these objectives, the society has made untiring efforts through the conduction of research, education programs, habitat restoration, planting programs, rescue animals, contribution of data to IUCN, creating butterfly gardens, exhibitions, lectures, excursions and many more community based programs in many parts of the country. We do everything possible to conserve the remaining rain forests of the island where most of the endemic and threaded animals and plants are restricted. |
